I don't really know where to start this one. It was a good weekend. Got a lot of grad school homework finished, started spring cleaning, and got to grill supper. Sophie has been doing really well. She hasn't complained about being stuck at home, not being able to see her friends, and the weather has even been a bit strange. I'm so proud of her. When all of this is over, I'm taking her to Disneyland. She deserves it.
We created paper towel art and decorated our back porch sliding door. (Please excuse the filthy window. Much of those marks are puppy dog nose prints.). Sophie painted some clay art given to her by her bestie. We will be dropping those off to be fired in the kiln sometime this week. In order for her to get to do all of the fun art projects, Sophie had to "earn" some time by mopping the floors. Our backyard is a muddy disaster right now, and so Mato dog is a muddy disaster everytime he goes to the bathroom. He tracks it right through the house from the wood floors to the carpets. Ugh. It's too bad that I love that dumb dog so much.
Grad school is ramping up again. With all the school closures and colleges moving online, nothing changed with my graduate work. I've never done so much reading and writing in my life. I don't remember undergrad being this reading/writing heavy. Three projects/papers due in one week, and they all started to sound the same. Oops.
Started a concert series for this "no band" time in my life. It's called the Quarantine Concert Series. Every week I'll post a link to a "concert" that you can enjoy from your couch! I need some band in my life or I will go certifiably nuts. Here's the link for Concert #1 - Music for the Soul. Might even do a Q&A after the concert, or at least a blog to review it!
I hope all of you are well. Looks like this "reality" will extend through all of April, but no official word yet. Hang in there. Turn off the news. Go hug your children.
