Diary of a Band Director - Homeschool Day 7

The first four hours of my day were spent in the entryway of the middle school handing out instruments and folders to students who didn't take their instruments home over spring break. An unheated entryway. It was a bit chilly. Most instruments are back in the hands of their students. One roadblock down. Now to get them practicing those instruments...

I didn't get back home until after noon, so homeschool was a bit strange today. Sophie did her Bell Work at 1:00 pm. We didn't get our Lunch Doodles with Mo in today, but we will double up tomorrow.

Sophie has done pretty well with Math these past few days. Today she counted by tens from 100 and wrote them in a number chart. We struggle a bit still going from 190 to 200 or 290 to 300. Doesn't quite get the switch into the next hundred. We also are starting to work with a ruler. She finds this fairly easy, however, she always wants to start at 1 inch, instead of starting at "0". She doesn't fully understand why. We've got a bit more practice to do.

After math, we read and did some activities in SeeSaw that her teacher has assigned. I believe we will get 1 SeeSaw activity per day. Sophie enjoys this app, probably because she gets to use her iPad. We also made some funny faces and a video. Please enjoy.

PE was a walk/jog. I got some new kicks, so I needed to break them in. Hopefully this will jump start my 5k goal by Easter.

I need it to be sunny out. I need to stop watching the White House Press briefings, but it's like watching a train wreck. I get so angry every time I watch. I need a drink. Or a run. I'm going back outside, but this is comedy hour today. My heart rate is elevated and my blood pressure is through the roof.

Much love.
